Some quantitative variation in amino acid content was noted at the Shimane agric. Coll., Matsue, in potato vars. at different stages of growth and varying in susceptibility to P. infestans, though no definite conclusions were reached. Tubers of resistant vars. usually contained less glutamic acid than susceptible, and the aspartic acid content decreased with the development of infection.
