The question of which types of cattle are most economic is discussed with particular reference to the Hungarian Spotted breed, whose milk production is considered to be unsatisfactory. Results are given to date of the crossbreeding experiment begun in with the Hungarian Spotted and Jersey breeds. A table shows the expected genetic improvement in milk yield after 10 and 20 yrs. in a purebred Hungarian Spotted herd, and in herds containing 25% and 50% Jersey blood resp.
