On the relationships between the dietary intakes of vitamin A, the ability of dark adaptation and the serum A levels of healthy college students.

On the relationships between the dietary intakes of vitamin A, the ability of dark adaptation and the serum A levels of healthy college students.

Jap. J. Nutrition. 19: 153-162

Results are presented for average intakes of nutrients during one month by 20 healthy college men and women aged 18 to 19 years. Intakes of animal protein, calcium and riboflavin were below recommended allowances. On average, women's intake of vitamin A was about equal to, and men's intake about half, the recommended allowances, but dark adaptation was reasonably good in both.
