Kukuruza (Maize), 7, 23-24



Soaking maize seed in aqueous solution of boron promoted the development of reproductive organs of the plants, improved pollen viability and increased the amount of fertile pollen in experiments at Luganskoe. Data are given on the grain yields of a few varieties and hybrids raised from soaked seed in two seasons with different meteorological conditions. Information is also provided on yield increases of hybrid VIR42 whose parental forms were raised from soaked seed.
