Protection of quercetin against ethanol-induced oxidative damage in rat primary hepatocytes

Protection of quercetin against ethanol-induced oxidative damage in rat primary hepatocytes

Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 29(3): 288-291

Objective: To investigate the protective effects of quercetin on ethanol-induced oxidative damage in rat primary hepatocytes. Method: Rat primary hepatocytes were isolated and cultured by using the two-step collagenase perfusion technique. The hepatocytes were pre-treated with different doses (25-200 micro mol/litre) of quercetin at different times (0-8 h) followed by sensitive 100 mmol/litre ethanol exposure for 8 h.
