The impact of anthropogenic activity in the context of disposal and discharge processes has been extensively researched and reported. In order to assess and measure the extent of toxic contamination, various methods have been developed. Standardised toxicity testing protocols for environmental samples issued by international organizations include microbial species, invertebrates and plants.
