Reciprocal influence of neighbouring diploid and tetra-ploid red clover plants on each other's seed production

The presence of even a few diploid red clover plants reduced seed-setting in tetraploid red clover, and the consequent reduction in seed yield was proportional to the number of diploid plants. This influence of diploid plants on seed production of tetraploid plants extended to a distance of 8 m.
