Records of selected trees as a basis for their genetical and physiological evaluation

Records of selected trees as a basis for their genetical and physiological evaluation

Zuchter 28: 257-62

Forest trees are selected on the basis of their phenotypic characters, investigations being subsequently made to determine their genetic constitution and physiological characters. In such work, detailed records have to be kept of all the information gained concerning each selection. For this purpose a punched card file is recommended as being highly efficient; cards with marginal holes are used.
