Recycling human waste for food security

This article discusses the implementation of ecological sanitation (EcoSan) as an alternative to conventional sanitation in order to solve infectious disease, environmental pollution and degraded soils that impair food security. In EcoSan, human excreta are valuable resources required to restore soil fertility. Not only is it cost-effective but also its returns are much higher than those of conventional systems due to its added benefits.
