Red leaf of Oats. A virus disease of cereals in Tasmania

Suspected symptoms of barley yellow dwarf virus were first noticed on oats in Tasmania 8 yr. ago; in 1959 transmission tests confirmed its presence. It infects wheat, oats, and barley throughout Tasmania, also rye, though with little effect.
