Reducing the rate of breakdown of urea.

Reducing the rate of breakdown of urea.

Allattenyesztes. 12: 383-388

In trials with sheep 4 different urea compounds were given in tablet form. The tablets had a protective coating of alkali-soluble material; contents of urea were T-I, 1.6351 g, T-2, 1.5863 g, P-I, 1.5536 g and P-2, 1.4216 g. The protective coating of T-1 and P-1 delayed the release of ammonia for 2 h and that of T-2 and P-2 for 4 h. The tablets were lowered in nylon bags through fistulae into the rumen of 4 young sheep and withdrawn hourly.
