Register of baking quality in the Netherlands wheat harvest, 1957

Data are given of the baking quality and composition of the grain of 10 varieties of winter-and spring-wheat grown in different districts of the Netherlands in 1957. Mean grain yields of winter and spring wheats in 1956 were 3795 and 3480 kg./ha. and in 1957, 4241 and 3768 kg./ha., respectively. Of winter wheats in 1957, Leda and Carstens VI had the best baking quality; Carstens VI and Heine's VII were the most widely-grown varieties.
