Titrations of 181 cultures of F. & M. disease virus revealed a definite correlation between the complement-fixation titration and the titration method employing susceptible cattle. That amount of cultural virus required to fix one unit of complement corresponded with 128, 000 ID30of type A virus; with100, 000 ID50of type C virus; and with 125, 000 IDSO of type O virus. Animals injected s/c with 15 ml. of vaccine, which had been evaluated by the c.f. method, were refractive when challenged three months later.
