In the 1st paper, studies at Univ. Perugia on bacterial wilt of lucerne plants 2-3 yr. old growing in irrigated fields in Bologna, caused by C. insidiosum are described. In the 2nd, M. phaseoli is reported to have been found on lucerne for the 1st time in Italy in July, 1956, in the experimental fields of Univ. Perugia, confined to small, scattered areas.
