Seasonality of beef and veal production in Argentina and consequent beef exports

Seasonality of beef and veal production in Argentina and consequent beef exports

Emp. J. exp. Agric, 26: 57-63

Between 1942 and 1952 there was an increase in cattle numbers from 315 million to 453 million and numbers are said to be increasing. Although over-all production of beef has increased, consumption in Argentina has increased even more rapidly and exports have declined. Data are tabulated. Production reached a peak in 1950 when 3, 654, 900 cattle were sold at Buenos Aires cattle market.
