Secretion of vitamins D2 and D3 in milk. 4. Influence of feeding vitamins D2 and D3 and the parenteral administration of vitamin D3.

Z. Tierphysiol. Tierernahr 17(5): 275-94

Daily supplements of 8, 000 or 16, 000 I.U. vitamin D3 or 16, 000 I.U. vitamin D2 were fed over periods of 11 and 13 months to 2 and 9 cows respectively; vitamin D3 levels in milk were shown to be correlated with the duration of sunshine and were not affected either by oral vitamin supplementation or by stage of pregnancy or lactation.
