A standard Superior type cream sediment tester was modified for testing bulk tank milk. The tester is surrounded by a water jacket made from stainless steel piping and is provided with a dial thermometer. It was shown that water at 130 degrees F circulating through the jacket at a rate of 1 gal. per min. will warm 1 pt. of milk from 38 degrees F to 9o degrees F in 1.5 min.
