Sero-biological relationship between Jungle fowl and domestic fowl

Sero-biological relationship between Jungle fowl and domestic fowl

Proc. Xllth World's Poult. Congr, Sydney, N.S.W., 7-8

From precipitin absorption tests on blood sera it was established that common antigens were present in the Red Jungle fowl (Gallus bankiva) (J.F.), Japanese Native fowl (J.N.) and their hybrid and that no species specific antigen was present. Specific antigens not present in Red Jungle serum were found in White Leghorns. Paper electrophoresis failed to recognise any differences in mobility of the serum protein fractions of blood sera of the J.F., J.N. and J.N. X J.F.
