Schistosoma mansoni adults were incubated for 3 to 20 days at 37 degrees C. in NCTC 109, with excess glucose, to investigate their amino-acid requirements. Aspartic and glutamic acids, histidine, tryptophan and arginine, and glucosamine decreased in concentration but many of the aminoacidsss, particularly proline, alanine and ornithine, increased.
