Some results on the variability of the clot-on-boiling test

Jour Dairy Res 24(3): 340-345

Worker and replicate variability were investigated on the clot-on-boiling (COB) test carried out at 15 minute intervals on raw samples stored at 20[degree]C. Differences between workers were not significant. With 5 replicates examined for each milk sample good agreement was found. The change from absence to presence of a precipitate generally occurred on successive steps but there were indications that the times to increased intensity of clotting differed with samples.
