Slag application increased yields by 6-19%, increased tillering and prevented sesame spot disease and rice blast, SiO2 gel was more effective than slag. The SI absorption of the plants increased proportionally with increased absorption of N, P, K, Mg and Mn. Soil. pH was higher and the amount of mikieralized NH4-N was great on plots receiving slag; a decrease in Eh value followed.
