significantly increased the survival of Ashmouny and Giza 30 seedlings in sterile soil inoculated with Rhizoctonia solani and in naturally infested soil in the greenhouse at Univ. Cairo, as well as in 40 field sowings during 1955-57. Treatment reduced post-emergence damping-off during the cooler months of Jan. and Feb. but had little effect on this phase in the March sowings.
