The inflammability of Cryptomeria japonica and its resistance to Poria vaporaria were tested 3 years after treatment with 0.1-10% CuSO4, NaF, ZnCl2, ZnSO4, HgCl2, Na2As2O4 and the Na salt of PCP. Differences in concentration of the treating solutions used did not seem to affect inflammability. The first two substances tended to increase inflammability and the third (a 'fire retardant') had no effect at the concentrations used.
