cf. F.A. 20 No. 1161.) (I) The resistance of 7 cultures to 4 water-borne and 3 water-insoluble preservatives was tested by the Kolle-flask method. Results are tabulated. The cultures proved most susceptible to Na arsenate (1) and to HgCl2 (2) and least susceptible to alpha-chloronaphthalene and coaltar creosote (3). Cultures differed considerably in their resistance, especially to (1), (2), (3) and PCP (4).
