Studies on variants of a bovine strain of parainfluenza 3 virus. 2. Haemagglutinating activity

Studies on variants of a bovine strain of parainfluenza 3 virus. 2. Haemagglutinating activity

Acta Pathologica et Microbiologica Scandinavica 51: 75-80

A bovine strain of parainfluenza-3 virus and two variants with different cytopathic effects isolated from this strain had a haemagglutinating activity similar to that of mumps and Newcastle disease viruses, i.e., ability to lyse red blood cells, to form agglutinin on stable cells, and to show a higher HA titre when the titration was performed at 37 degrees C. than at 4 degrees C.
