Xanthine oxidase activity in individual milk samples varied from <I to >2O, (i.e. much more widely than in bulk milk) with definite frequency peaks at 3.0 and 16.5. An activity of 16.5 occurred more frequently and of 3.0 less frequently in samples taken in June than in those taken in March and April, suggesting an influence due to the change in feeding conditions at those periods.
