The effect of g1bberellic acid on cell division and cell elongation in stems of Lycopersicum esculentum

The effect of g1bberellic acid on cell division and cell elongation in stems of Lycopersicum esculentum

Diss. Abstr, 21: 1723

After GA treatment the stem pith had a smaller final diameter than that of untreated plants, and the final lengths of the first internodes of treated plants were much greater than those of control plants. The cell number across the pith was not affected by GA treatment, but the final number of cells in the longitudinal axis was greatly increased. It was concluded that GA increased the rate of cell elongation. There were indications of an antagonistic interaction between MH and GA.
