The effect of increasing split applications of nitrogen on the grain yield, protein and gluten content of winter wheat.

The effect of increasing split applications of nitrogen on the grain yield, protein and gluten content of winter wheat.

Bodenkultur (A) 13(2): 98-117. bibl. 36

Winter wheat varieties were sown at 180-200 kg seed/ha at various localities in Austria, dressed in autumn with 140 kg P2O5 plus 240 kg K2O/ha and given 40-160 kg N/ha (a) part in autumn, the rest in spring; (b) part at tillering, part at haulm elongation, the rest at earing. The yield, protein content and gluten content were increased more by (b) than by (a).
