Abstract
Photoperiods of 10 hr. for 5-20 days induced flowering and seed maturation in one variety of teosinte from Florida, 97-51, 2 from Mexico, 65-51 and 406-51 and one from Guatemala, 35-51, during the growing season at Ames, Iowa (42 degrees N. lat.) in 1956-7. The control plants exposed to prevailing long-days grew 12-15 ft. tall, flowered in Sept. but failed to mature seed before being killed by frost.
