Abstract
The pastures of Reunion Island are limited in extent and of mediocre quality. They contain the following grasses of forage value: Stenotaphrum complanatum, present in moist coastal regions and easily multiplied by cuttings; Paspalum scrobiculatum and P. paniculatum, present in meadows; Panicum javanicum and P. plicatum in hill regions; Arrhenatherum avenaceum and Poa annua in the plateaux of the interior; Cynodon dactylon, Chloris barbata and Eleusine indica in almost all habitats.
