Treatments were: -NPK; NPK+15 kg/ha MgSO4; NPK+30 kg MgSO4; 30 kg MgSO4. The fertilizers had no very marked influence on dry-matter accumulation, but transpiration intensity fell, especially when NPK+Mg were given.
