The inheritance of head characters in tetraploid wheat hybrids : II. Rachis bristles, awns, glume tenacity, clavate head, and seed color

The results of the second study in this series (cf. Abst. 2760) indicate that the two lines crossed, Ld.222 durum and a selection from Mindum durum x Vernal emmer, differed by a single factor pair for the following three characters: -awnless vs. long.awns, long vs. short rachis bristles and red vs. amber kernel colour. Transgressive segregation was noted for glume tenacity, with a tendency toward dominance of low over high tenacity.
