Fattening trials were carried out with Landraces, Large Whites and their 1/4-, 1/2 and f Landrace crosses The meat characters of Landraces were transmitted to their progeny; with decreasing percentages of Landrace blood, carcass length, eye muscle area and the meat content of the carcass decreased, and backfat thickness and the fat content of the carcass increased.
