The place of agricultural chemicals in weed control

The place of agricultural chemicals in weed control

Agric. Bur. N. S. W. 32nd State Congr, 11-14

A review, Onions are severely affected by weed competition, yields being reduced by up to 90%. Bulbing is induced prematurely under competition and the bulbs grow very little after removal of weeds. Yield of carrots will be severely affected in the first 3. 5 weeks, even at rate of 3 weeds/ft2, improvement is rapid after removal of weeds. - D.
