The relation of photoautotrophic bacteria to vitamins and the synthesis of vitamins by these organisms

The relation of photoautotrophic bacteria to vitamins and the synthesis of vitamins by these organisms

Mikrobiologija 31: 396-401

The photosynthetic bacteria were 2 purple forms, Chromatium minutissimum and Rhodopseudomonas sp., and 2 green bacteria, Chlorobium thiosulphatophilum and Chloropseudomonas ethylicum. They were reared in the medium of Larsen (J. Bacteriol., 1952, 64, 187), except that the last-named species required extra MgCl2 and NaCl.
