The uptake of foliar applied P32 and its translocation in tomato plants.

The uptake of foliar applied P32 and its translocation in tomato plants.

Acta agron. hung, 11: 151-61. bibl. 16

Labelled P was applied on 3 different dates, either in the morning or in the evening, to a single leaf per plant. The treated leaves were then removed at intervals. An evaluation of over 100 radio-autograms showed that P32 was readily absorbed by the leaves, moved mainly to the young tissues and was evenly distributed throughout the plant within about 6 days of an application being made to one leaf.
