Previous parts not abstracted. 4. Early lucerne, Du Puits, and late AFl were sown at 20 lb per acre alone or with 2 or 3 lb of one of 3 grasses. In the first year the percentage of the respective lucernes in fodder was 67 or 52 when sown alone, and from 19 to 33 or from 6 to 13 with the 2 amounts of grasses; in fodders crude protein was 20-6 or 22.0, from 15.3 to 19.5 or 16.0 to 19.2%; yield of dry matter was 1530 or 1130, and from 2240 to 2430 or from 2090 to 2500 lb per acre. Corresponding mean results over the next 3 years were crude protein 17.5, 18.4, 15.3 to 15.9 and 14.2 to 15.6%, yield of dry matter 10, 840, 8960, 9690 to 11, 470 and 8090 to 9350 lb per acre. After the first year there was no advantage in yield or in crude protein content or yield from growing grass with lucerne.
