Trematodes d'ois-eaux de Madagascar. (Note II). Especes du genre Stomylotrema Looss 1900 (fam. Stomylo-trematidae, Travassos 1922, Poche 1926)

Annales de Parasitologie Humaine et Comparee. 38: 1, 63-75

Stomylotrema vachoni n. sp., from Ardeola ralloides, Ardea cinerea and Corvus scapulatus, is distinguished by the large size of the cirrus sac, which measures 0-66 mm. by 0-125 mm. and corresponds to about 1 /3 of the body length; by the distribution of the vitelline follicles, the 9 follicles on the left hand side extending in a lateral line from the post-acetabular region to the level of the ovary, whilst the 7 follicles on the right extend from the post-acetabular region to the level of the right testis. 5. chabaudi n. sp. from Tyto alba affinis is distinguished from known species by the very small body size of 1-14 mm. by 0-73 mm., by the intestinal caeca which do not extend posteriorly beyond the mid-level of the acetabulum, and by the spherical vitelline follicles which are concentrated in the mid-body region between the oral sucker and the acetabulum. 5. pictum from T. alba affinis is redescribed and diree specimens from the cloaca of C. scapulatus are tentatively identified as this species although the body, testes, ovary and suckers are all smaller. 8 figures illustrate the paper. The birds were collected in Madagascar. I. C.
