On Zomba plateau, Nyasaland, 3 acres of indigenous evergreen forest and 3 acre of Pinus patula have been underplanted with Mlanje Cedar in order to determine the possibility of converting poor patches of evergreen forest to Cedar, and the effect of underplanting exotic Pine stands with an indigenous conifer.
