In the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area the major air dispersal period for conidia of M. fructicola extended from 1 month before to 2 months after the peach harvest. The max. number of conidia were trapped when rain fell at harvest time, and the conc., of conidia was related to the amount of fruit infection. A diurnal periodicity in spore conc., occurred, with a max. in the early afternoon. Conidia were detected in the air 300 ft. from a test orchard.
