Air temperatures of 36, 31, 21 and 16 degrees C were combined with water temperatures of 36, 31, 21 and 16 degrees C for 15-day periods. At early growth the best water temperature was 31 degrees ; air temperature had no effect on yield. At mid-growth, water temperature and air temperature both affected yields. At late growth, water temperature had no effect on yield and the best air temperature was 21 degrees.
