Antigenic relationships among the coronaviruses of man and between human and animal coronaviruses

Antigenic relationships among the coronaviruses of man and between human and animal coronaviruses

Journal of Immunology 102(5): 1109-1118

The coronaviruses have recently been differentiated from the myxoviruses on their characteristic morphology in negatively stained preparations. Antigenic comparison was made of seven organ-culture-grown human coronavirus strains, one tissue-culture-grown human strain (229E), several strains of mouse hepatitis virus and one strain of avian infectious bronchitis virus (IBV).
