Aphis triglochinis Theobald, 1926, as a pest of red currant (Ribes rubrum L.) and black currant (Ribes nigrum L.) (Homoptera, Aphididae)

Aphis triglochinis Theobald, 1926, as a pest of red currant (Ribes rubrum L.) and black currant (Ribes nigrum L.) (Homoptera, Aphididae)

Ent. Ber, Amsterdam, 25: 1, 5-6

An aphid that had been observed occasionally on red and black currant in England and one that appeared to be widespread in Holland and often very common on Rorippa sylvestris, Barbarea vulgaris and B. stricta were both identified as Aphis triglochinis Theo.. The colonies of this aphid resemble those of A. grossulariae Kalt. and A. schneideri (Born.) and have possibly been mistaken for the latter on currant in Holland.
