Arthropod-borne viruses in New York state: serologic evidence of groups A, B, and Bunyamwera viruses in dairy herds

Arthropod-borne viruses in New York state: serologic evidence of groups A, B, and Bunyamwera viruses in dairy herds

American Journal of Veterinary Research 26(113): 914-919

Serum samples from 504 cows from 21 farms in St. Lawrence County were examined by two sero-logical methods. Members of three arbovirus groups were the antigens: A, B, and Bunyamwera. Antibodies to Cache Valley virus of the Bunyamwera group were found in 109 (21.6%), antibodies to group A viruses in 58 (11.5%), and antibodies to group B viruses in 23 serum samples (4.5%).
