Attractiveness of excised roots of plants to root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita (Kofoid & White) Chitwood

Attractiveness of excised roots of plants to root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita (Kofoid & White) Chitwood

Indian J. expl Biol 2(4): 208-210

A number of vegetable and ornamental plants and weeds were tested for attractiveness to Meloidogyne incognita larvae by placing excised root tips on 1% agar and inoculating with egg masses. Of 37 vegetable plants tested, 14 were attractive and 7 repellent; of 33 ornamental plants, 12 were attractive and 4 repellent; of 18 weeds, 5 were attractive and 2 repellent.
