Automated determination of ammonium and nitrate in soil extracts by distillation

In the automated procedures described, soil extracts with 2N KCl are distilled in the presence of MgO. NH4-N is determined by the automated indophenol method. NO3-N is first reduced with titanium (III) sulfate and determined as NH4-N as above.
