The importance of H. perforatum as a weed, the background to research on biological control and the ecology and releases and recoveries of Zeuxidiplosis giardi (Dip. : Cecidomyiidae) Agrilus hyperici (Col: Buprestidae), Chrysolina varians, C. hyperici and C. quadrigemina (Col. : Chrysomelidae) (see Weed Abstr. 20: 2746) and Anaitis plagiata (Lep. : Geo-metridae) are described. Control attempts are evaluated.
