J. Dairy Sci 48: 575-579



The efficacy of this non-ionic surface-active agent in controlling lucerne pasture bloat was demonstrated previously. In further tests, six cows were fed 10, 20 or 40 g. daily for 12 weeks, and six others were controls. There was no deleterious effect on milk production, milk fat test, body wt., feed consumption, conception rate, or health. Two sets of fistulated identical twin cows were used to determine the surfactant's effect on rumen fermentation.
