Blood amino acid studies. 6. Use of plasma amino acid score for predicting limiting amino acid(s) in dietary proteins

Blood amino acid studies. 6. Use of plasma amino acid score for predicting limiting amino acid(s) in dietary proteins

Canad. J. Biochem 45: 31-37

For part 5 see Abst. 2193, Vol. 35. 6. Lysine, methionine, threonine, tryptophan, leucine and isoleucine were estimated in blood plasma of rats given diets containing 7 to 15% protein from 21 sources, mainly of plant origin, that supply much of the dietary protein for human populations, particularly in developing countries. The diets were offered for 18 h daily to groups of 7 to 10 weanling male rats.
