Brunchorstia pinea, a serious dieback of Austrian and Corsican Pine

Brunchorstia pinea, a serious dieback of Austrian and Corsican Pine

Ned. Bosb. Tijdschr, 37: 3, 87-98

Describes the severe infections by B. pinea (perfect form Scleroderris lagerbergii), that have occurred chiefly on 10- to 25-year stands in the northern Netherlands and are attributed to an extension of the range of the fungus (discussed in detail) after some cold and wet summers. It does not occur in the southern Netherlands, which should be preferred for future plantings.
